| Included in the sale a pair of Regency Bergere chairs, owned by the highly successful Lord High Chancellor in Ramsay Macdonald's first Labour Government, Lord Haldane, are to be auctioned by Scottish auctioneers Thomson Roddick & Medcalf at their fine art and antiques auction at Oxenfoord Castle, Midlothian on Thursday 6th December. | ||
| Lord Haldane, who was from the distinguished Scottish family of Haldane of Gleneagles, was also the Secretary of State for War (1905-1912) | ||
| The Regency Bergere chairs, of fine elegant proportions, date from 1810 - 1820, and are being sold from a Scottish country house by a descendant of Lord Haldane. The pair is estimated to make £1`2,000 - £15,000. The chairs have even appeared in a 1908 edition of Women at Home magazine that features a photograph of Lord Haldane's sister at home at No 28 Queen Anne's Gate, Westminster with the Bergere chairs. | ||

| A varied and unique collection of over 100 perfume bottles from the 1920's - 1990's. Many of the bottles still contain perfume and have never been displayed. | ||
| Mauchline Ware - the traditional souvenirs collected by holidaymakers in the 19th century. Over 200 pieces in the collection, sod as lots estimated to sell for £5000 - £7000 in total. | ||
| Shell-shaped silver dishes in Rococo style. Made in London in 1796, they are estimated to make £5000 - £7000. | ||
